27.01.26

The Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA), the global governing body for motor sport and the federation for mobility organisations worldwide, is pleased to announce the appointment of Pierre Ketterer as Director of the General Manager’s Office, effective 1 March 2026.

In this newly created role, Pierre will report directly to Alberto Villarreal, the FIA General Manager, and will ensure the federation’s executive operating system functions with strategic clarity, alignment and accountability. Acting as a strategic partner to the FIA General Manager, Pierre will help to translate FIA organisational priorities into action and will strengthen cross-functional decision-making processes.

By driving strategic coordination across departments and ensuring effective follow-through on executive decisions, Pierre will help to reinforce the FIA’s vision and priorities.

Alberto Villarreal, FIA General Manager, said: “Pierre’s new role marks an important step in our efforts to strengthen internal collaboration and strategic execution. His unique combination of institutional knowledge and international experience will be a major asset in ensuring we remain focused, aligned, and accountable as we deliver on our mission.”

Pierre brings more than two decades of international legal and sport governance experience. He was formerly Director of Regulatory & Governance within the Legal Department at the FIA, where he played a key role in leading governance reforms and high-impact regulatory projects. Most recently, Pierre served as Associate Director of Legal Affairs at the International Olympic Committee, where he contributed to organisation-wide initiatives, supported strategic decision-making, and helped strengthen cross-functional collaboration.

He holds Master’s degrees in Sports Law & Economics and European Law, and has served on disciplinary panels for international federations including World Rugby and the International Equestrian Federation. His extensive leadership experience in complex, mission-driven organisations equips him strongly for his new mandate at the FIA.

Pierre Ketterer said: “I am delighted to join the FIA and to contribute to an organisation whose mission and values I deeply share. I look forward to supporting the delivery of our strategic priorities and enhancing alignment and execution across the organisation.”
