The Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA), the global governing body for motor sport and the federation for mobility organisations worldwide, has today announced that nominations are now open for the 2026 FIA Women in Motorsport Award and FIA Empowering Disabled Motorsport Award. The winners will be announced during FIA General Assemblies Week, held in Shanghai, China, this December.

Launched in 2025, the two awards recognise the individuals, teams and ASN-led initiatives making a significant impact in promoting accessibility and participation for people with disabilities, and in widening opportunities for women, across motor sport. They form part of the FIA's ongoing commitment to promote diversity and inclusion across motor sport and mobility.

The FIA Women in Motorsport Award celebrates role models who are opening up pathways for girls and women in every area of the sport, while the FIA Empowering Disabled Motorsport Award recognises outstanding contributions to disability inclusion, from grassroots clubs to elite competition.

The inaugural awards were presented at the FIA General Assemblies Week in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, in December 2025. The 2025 FIA Women in Motorsport Award went to 17-year-old Danish F1 Academy driver Alba Hurup Larsen, recognised for her Girls International Racing Lab (G.I.R.L.) initiative, which has engaged hundreds of girls and young women in motorsport. The 2025 FIA Empowering Disabled Motorsport Award was awarded to ADAC Südbayern, the Bavarian regional club of Germany's ADAC, for its Inclusive Motorsport programme, which brings people with and without disabilities together through adaptive technology, inclusive events and a network of partner clubs and workshops.
