Pioneering Exchange Programme Launched by FIA to Boost European Club Collaboration

27.08.26

The FIA European Exchange Programme offers Member Clubs the opportunity to experience and learn from other clubs, exchange ideas and challenges and lay the foundations for collaboration on events, championships and initiatives across Europe.

The first exchange took place earlier this month between Jakub Schimmer of The Autoclub of the Czech Republic and Denis Gasan from the Automobile Federation of Moldova, who visited AKK Finland, represented by Secretary General Anssi Kannas, from 20 to 22 August 2026.

The exchange, which included visits to AKK's headquarters, the Finnish Olympic Committee and sport media production facilities, provided a unique opportunity for Member Club representatives to gain valuable insights into AKK's sporting activities, governance, licensing, grassroots motor sport development and live event operations.

Anna Nordkvist, FIA Vice President for Sport (Europe), said: “The exchange programme is an exciting new way we’re strengthening motor sport relationships across Europe and the first exchange between Finland, Moldova and the Czech Republic has already shown what can be possible when clubs work together across borders”

Manuel Aviñó, FIA Vice President for Sport (Europe), said: “Collaboration is at the heart of the European Exchange Programme and I’m delighted the FIA has facilitated this knowledge sharing opportunity to further grow and develop motor sport across our region.”

The next European exchange will be hosted in Spain next month when RFEDA hosts the Member Clubs of Armenia, Norway and Israel.
