Halm joined home hero Adam Lacko on the front row of the partially-reverse Race 4 grid and was able to gain an early advantage over the chasing pack as Kiss made his move from eighth place.

After the seven-time winner of the Goodyear FIA ETRC snatched second from home hero Adam Lacko with five laps remaining, it became a question of when rather than if he could close up on leader Halm. Although the MAN driver got close, his IVECO-powered rival never faltered to claim victory as Lacko took a popular third place in front of thousands of Czech fans.

Lacko prepared for Sunday’s races by hosting Petr Pavel, President of the Czech Republic, in his Buggyra ZM Racing team area.

Kiss had earlier banked his second win of the weekend with victory in Race 3, which he completed ahead of Antonio Albacete and Jochen Hahn. And while he couldn’t get the better of Halm in Race 4, he leaves Czech Republic for his native Hungary with a provisional lead of 83 points.

Chrome champion Mark Taylor took a win double ahead of John Newell and Lukas Hahn in both Race 3 and Race 4. Lukas Hahn was voted the winner of the Goodyear Wingfoot Award by one fan vote over Newell for his weekend heroics, which included an outright win in Race 2 ahead of his father Jochen. Top Young Driver José Eduardo Rodrigues was also nominated.

Race 3 winner Norbert Kiss said: “A good race, a good start. Antonio [Albacete] was very close for sure. But we were level at the braking zone, and I could brake a bit later and enter the first chicane better so I was clear in front, and I started to build a gap. Just like yesterday we could do it again and the pace was good. The tyres could hold up very well and the truck was working very well, so I just had to watch out not to make a mistake or not to do an over-speed or whatever. It was good, a confident victory and a good job from the Révész Racing team yet again so thank you to them.”

Race 3 Chrome winner Mark Taylor said: “We had a good start. Turn 1 was a bit ropey going in three wide, but at least everyone came out of it. It was a good race. I was not 100 per cent happy with the truck, we had a few lock-ups and that cost me a lot of time, so I need to work on that to sort the issue out. But, overall, I’m well happy with the result.”

Race 4 winner Steffi Halm said: “I was very happy all the laps I saw Adam [Lacko] behind me but then there was the point when there was a red truck behind me and I said, ‘oh no’. I tried to stay focused, I tried to make no mistake to give him no chance to go somewhere and it worked. Norbi was very fair, he touched me not once and it was great.”

Race 4 Chrome winner Mark Taylor said: “We had a good, clean start, we spread out then all of a sudden bunched back up together, so it was a bit cat and mouse. But the track has come back good, everyone’s happy, the sponsor and the team. A good weekend.”
