Fuoco’s FIA GT World Cup Qualification Race win earns Pirelli Pole Position Award
Antonio Fuoco converted his first-place start into the FIA GT World Cup Qualification Race win to secure the Pirelli Pole Position Award, which guarantees the Italian line up at the front for the Main Race on Sunday.

Driving a Ferrari 296 GT3, Super Pole winner Fuoco led the 12-lap FIA GT World Cup Qualification Race throughout as Yifei Ye, from China, made it a 1-2 for the AF Corse team.
Fast-starting Raffaele Marciello had attempted to snatch second on the flat-out charge to Lisboa Corner for the first time, but had to pull out of the move and went through the tight right-hander in fourth place instead.
Unable to make further progress, the BMW M4 GT3 (Evo) driver settled for fourth at the flag as Alessio Picariello completed the podium in his Tempo by Absolute Racing Porsche 911 GT3 R (992).

Marciello’s rapid getaway allowed him to demote Joel Eriksson at the start, the Swedish Audi driving taking fifth ahead of Ayhancan Güven with Luca Engstler seventh in the lead Lamborghini Hurácan GT3 Evo 2. Laurin Heinrich, Dorian Boccolacci and Yi Deng completed the top 10.
Edoardo Mortara had been due to start third but was demoted to 10th after his Lamborghini Huracan GT3 Evo 2 was found to have exceeded Balance of Performance allocated power values during yesterday’s Super Pole. He finished 16th.
The 16-lap FIA GT World Cup Main Race is set to get under way at 12:15 local time on Sunday. Watch live on the FIA’s official YouTube channel.
