FIA remembers ex-F1 driver Jean-Pierre Beltoise
06.01.15
The FIA community pays its respects to Jean-Pierre Beltoise, the French Formula 1 driver who has passed away on 5 January 2015 at the age of 77.

Beltoise began his career in motorcycle racing, capturing 11 French national titles. He later went on to claim titles in Formula 3 and Formula 2 with Matra, before he moved to F1. In 1972, he took BRM's last F1 grand prix win in Monaco. He remained with BRM for two more seasons before retiring from F1 at the end of 1974. He later went on to compete in sportscars, French touring cars, ice racing, rallycross, and tested Ligier's F1 car.
FIA President Jean Todt said: “Today the motor sport community has lost a true friend and a great driver. All our thoughts are today with Jean-Pierre’s family at this difficult time. We will always have fond memories of his outstanding talent as a driver, no matter what the discipline”.
