17.04.26

All entries are in for the FIA Innovation Challenge 2026. From large-scale initiatives to targeted, local campaigns, 65 projects driving growth, development and community impact have been received from Member Clubs across the four Mobility Regions in the FIA network.

Demonstrating the breadth of expertise across the four Mobility Regions in the FIA Network, 64 applications have been received for the FIA Innovation Challenge 2026. This year’s submissions showcase the commitment of FIA Member Clubs to improving mobility services and strengthening community impact.

As part of this global initiative, applications have been received from Member Clubs across the four Mobility Regions in the FIA Network:

  • 34 projects from FIA Region I (Europe, Middle East and Africa)

  • 10 projects from FIA Region II (Asia and Pacific)

  • 6 projects from FIA Region III (North America)

  • 15 projects from FIA Region IV (South and Central America)

To see how Member Clubs worldwide are driving change for the future of mobility, all applications can be found on the dedicated webpage for the FIA Innovation Challenge 2026.

Regional Selection Committees will now choose the twelve Regional Champions, with three champions per Region, announced and awarded at FIA regional congresses throughout the year. The Region I Champions will be the first to be announced on 23 April at the FIA Region I Spring Meeting in Budva, Montenegro.

A global judging panel will then select one Global Winner from each Region, who will receive their awards at the FIA General Assemblies week in Shanghai, China, in December.

Open exclusively to FIA Member Clubs with projects both big and small, applications have covered Mobility initiatives launched, active or completed in the past 24 months. Each submission celebrated new or improved ideas, services, or ways of working to better serve members in an evolving mobility landscape.

Willem Groenewald, FIA Secretary General for Automobile Mobility, Sustainability and Tourism said: “The FIA Innovation Challenge demonstrates and rewards the incredible creativity, commitment and impact of our Member Clubs for road users and communities worldwide.

“I’m thrilled to see how our Clubs are continuing to develop solutions that respond to local challenges while contributing to safer, more sustainable and more affordable mobility for everyone.”
