Winners take it all in 2025 FIA EDRC Finals – Callin, Bellio, Rantaniemi and Norén crowned in Santa Pod thriller

12.09.25

The 2025 FIA European Drag Racing Championship came to a spectacular conclusion at the European Finals, Santa Pod Raceway, where four champions were crowned in a weekend of high drama and unforgettable performances. With all titles still undecided going into eliminations, every round carried championship implications – and in three of the four classes, the finals doubled as title deciders.

Top Fuel – Callin seizes glory

The Top Fuel battle brought extraordinary tension. Championship leader Liam Jones entered race day knowing that victory would secure his first European crown. However, the Brit’s hopes ended in the semifinals when he was defeated by reigning champion Jndia Erbacher, who stormed to a 3.90-second run. On the other side of the ladder, Susanne Callin had secured the No.1 qualifying position and advanced to the final with a bye run. This set up a dramatic, winner-takes-all showdown between Erbacher and Callin. When Erbacher encountered engine problems, Callin powered to a 3.94-second win, claiming both the event victory and her maiden FIA European Top Fuel Championship. Jones finished second in the standings, with Erbacher third.

Pro Modified – Back-to-back championships for Rantaniemi

The Pro Modified title race delivered more drama and heartbreak. Championship leader Marck Harteveld faced Andy Robinson in the quarter-finals, but was eliminated despite a solid 5.97-second run. That opened the door for reigning champion Jere Rantaniemi, who needed to advance past David Vegter to retain his crown. In a thrilling contest, the Finn delivered a 5.83-second pass to eliminate Vegter, securing his second consecutive European title. Rantaniemi went on to win the event itself, defeating Andres Arnover in a sensational final. Although Arnover recorded the quicker elapsed time, Rantaniemi’s superior reaction time made the difference, with the margin just 0.0038 seconds at the finish line. Harteveld concluded the season runner-up, with Arnover third.

Top Methanol – Bellio delivers for Belgium

Top Methanol featured a multi-way battle with Sandro Bellio, Jonny Lagg, Tony Bryntesson and Silvio Strauch all in contention. Early eliminations for Bryntesson and Strauch meant that the title would be settled between Bellio and Lagg, who both advanced to the final. With everything on the line, Bellio rose to the occasion, defeating Lagg to seal both the race win and the FIA European Championship crown. Behind them, Tina Høst Nedregård completed the season third in the standings after a strong campaign.

Pro Stock – Norén dethrones Ålund

The Pro Stock title came down to a head-to-head between 13-time champion Jimmy Ålund and rising star Robin Norén. Both advanced through the ladder to set up a final that would decide the championship. Ålund had shown stronger pace during the weekend, but Norén’s reaction time proved decisive in the final, securing victory by just 0.008 seconds. The result handed the Swede his first FIA Pro Stock title, ending Ålund’s bid for a 14th crown.

A season to remember

The European Finals encapsulated the very essence of FIA Drag Racing – speed, drama and titles decided by the smallest of margins. Susanne Callin, Sandro Bellio, Jere Rantaniemi and Robin Norén leave Santa Pod as the 2025 FIA European Champions, their names etched into the history books after one of the most competitive seasons in recent memory.
