Second Phase of FIA Helmet Wearing Programme Delivered in Mexico
The second phase of the FIA Helmet Wearing Programme 2024–2025 was officially launched earlier this month in Puebla, Mexico. It will focus on the free distribution of certified motorcycle helmets to local riders who rely on motorcycles for work and transportation.

The initiative — delivered by the Asociación Nacional Automovilística ANA A.C. with the support of the Keep Fighting Foundation (founded by the Schumacher family) and the FIA Safe and Sustainable Mobility Grants Programme funded by the FIA Foundation —aims to promote safer riding practices and reduce the risk of head injuries for vulnerable road users, with the free distribution of certified motorcycle helmets to local riders who rely on motorcycles for work and transportation.
This second helmet distribution event was held at the Quiosco de la Población in the municipality of Juan C. Bonilla. At the event, Saúl G. Alcántara L. from the Asociación Nacional Automovilística ANA A.C. was joined by local authorities including José Cinto Bernal, Municipal President of Juan C. Bonilla, and Tiburcio Muñoz, Auxiliary President of Santa María Zacatepec.
Approximately 2,500 certified helmets are set to be distributed as part of this phase of the programme, with each helmet provided free of charge to selected recipients. The event also included awareness-raising activities about the importance of using certified protective gear, encouraging motorcyclists to understand safety standards and how to choose a high-quality helmet.
The FIA Helmet Wearing Programme continues to expand across several continents, supporting FIA Member Clubs in improving two-wheeler safety through targeted grant funding.
