FIA FR/F4/GT World Cups - Macau’s global appeal revealed

Motor sport stars from around the world will be heading to Macau next week (13-16 November) for a festival of motor sport that highlights the event’s global appeal.

No fewer than 28 national flags will be flown by the FIA World Cup competitors during the 72nd Macau Grand Prix’s packed timetable.

The FIA Formula Regional World Cup, which takes place for a second time following the inaugural edition in 2024, has 15 countries or special administrative regions represented.

For its first edition, the FIA Formula 4 World Cup lists 13 nationalities on the entry list, while the eighth FIA GT World Cup is being contested by drivers from 10 countries or special administrative regions.


Aryaman Bansal, a 15-year-old from India, will make his Macau debut this season in the FIA F4 World Cup. He said: “Macau has a great history and it’s great to be able to drive on a circuit that has created so many Formula One stars.”

Seventeen-year-old Shimo Zhang, an FIA F4 World Cup contender from Hong Kong, said: “Macau is one of the most prestigious races. I aim to show my full potential and maybe a podium or a win [will be possible].”

British FIA FR World Cup racer Reza Seewooruthun, 19, added: “Macau is the most prestigious standalone race that drivers of my age can participate in for formula cars with a unique opportunity to race on a circuit with such rich history and alumni of participants. I believe that the grid is one of the most competitive and experienced that you will come up against, giving you a fantastic opportunity to demonstrate your abilities.”

Argentina, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, China, Chinese Taipei, Denmark, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Macau, Mexico, Poland, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, Türkiye, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, United States of America, Vietnam.

Four FIA-sanctioned competitions will take place during the 72nd Macau Grand Prix week from 13-16 November with the FIA FR World Cup, FIA F4 World Cup and FIA GT World Cup streamed live and free of charge via the FIA’s official YouTube channel. The Kumho FIA TCR World Tour season finale also forms part of the Macau schedule.
